This Week’s General Astrology Forecast
The week starts off with the Moon in Sagittarius and the Sun at 25º Sagittarius Trine to Uranus in Aries.
We are on the threshold of the Sagittarius New Moon that occurs tomorrow at 26º 35’ Sagittarius.
This is an easy flowing day until late afternoon when the Moon Squares Neptune. Use it as an opportunity to release any old emotional baggage in preparation for tomorrow’s New Moon.

Astro Energy Report Highlights
All dates are at exact peak of intensity when energies begin to culminate and wane. If you have personal planets or points within 1-2º orb of an aspect that’s occurring between planets then you will feel that celestial event more strongly.
On December 16th – the Sun at 24º Sagittarius is Trine to Uranus. You awaken suddenly to new vistas opening up for you. This can represent a kind of revelation or an aha moment. Today can feel like a new dawn for you!
On December 17th – we have the 26º 31’ Sagittarius New Moon exact at 10:31am PT. This is a potent New Moon for awakening love that has maybe felt dormant or tarnished in some way. Now there is much needed renewal available. Especially if you have personal planets or points Conjunct or Trine (Leo and Uranus) to this 26º point (or within 1-2º) then at this time there is a complete renewal of your personal love energies. Yay!
Sagittarius New Moon Party
There’s a party going on in Sagittarius as the Sagittarius New Moon Conjuncts the Sun (as all New Moons do) it makes some luscious meetings with other celestial bodies making it one of the most memorable and fortunate New Moons of 2018. So make the most of your opportunities to expand your heart and mind and open to the new possibilities and vistas that can open up for you now.
- The Sagittarius New Moon Conjuncts Mercury Retrograde just before the Moon reaches new adding brilliance and magic to the New Moon. The ONLY caveat with this connection may be that the connections and ideas that are seeded now may take a while to bear fruit. When Mercury Stations Direct and transits back over this point on December 27th forward activation of this point can occur from this pregnant point of union between the Sun and Mercury.
- The Sagittarius New Moon Conjuncts Venus at the Sagittarius New Moon. There is tremendous amount of personal love energy being seeded at Sagittarius New Moon.
- The Sagittarius New Moon Trines Uranus (the Awakener) in Aries at the Sagittarius New Moon charging the potential of this day with high voltage energy. You’d have to be living under a rock not to feel the freedom and good feeling vibes available to you at this Sagittarius New Moon.
*****The feel good energy released now can be felt for the remainder of the week through December 23rd, or even longer!
On December 19th – Saturn moves into Capricorn, the sign it naturally rules. Saturn enjoys and does really well in Capricorn. The heaviness of Saturn transiting through Sagittarius is now thrown off. If your sense of joy and exuberance for life have felt stifled over the last 2+ years now you can breathe and feel the return of freedom of expression in this area of your life where Sagittarius is located. Yay!! This is cause for tremendous celebration. Usually as Saturn leaves a sign rewards for all your hard work begin to flow in to that house. Check Meaning of 12 Houses for more insights. I’ll talk more about Saturn’s transit in Capricorn a little more in today’s report and in future posts. Saturn transits through its own sign of Capricorn until March 21, 2020.
On December 20th – Venus at 25º Sagittarius exactly Trines Uranus in Aries. This is often described as a “love at first sight” connection happening. Something that awakens you to feeling loved and appreciated happens today. Your personal love energies feel renewed.
On December 21st – Winter Solstice the Sun enters the Sign of Capricorn at 8:29am PT and soon after Conjuncts Saturn at 00º Capricorn. This quite a lovely seed point and auspicious fresh start for Saturn in Capricorn and in general for the New Year 2018. Fresh starts and great opportunities can come from Saturn’s transit in Capricorn. This Conjunction of the Sun and Saturn is very stabilizing and brings light into the darkness. A re-building phase has begun for you personally and collectively for the world-at-large. This is the first time Capricorn has transited its own sign since November 11, 1988 to February 6, 1991. If you were on the planet then can you recall what happened for you during those years? Or, what was happening for your parents?
On December 22nd – Mercury at 13º Sagittarius Stations Direct exactly at 5:51pm PT. Slowly your mind comes out of its visit to the underworld of your unconscious mind. The priceless gems you discovered mining your intuition can now be integrated and implemented. Your attitude and mental outlook has a fresh new start as your thoughts move out of the underworld into the light of day. Mercury leaves its Retrograde Shadow Phase on January 9th when you’ll gain momentum with your new ideas and projects.
VOID OF COURSE MOON PERIODS
The moon represents your emotional needs. Your emotions fluctuate with the moon as it moves through its 28-day cycle around the zodiac from new moon to full and back to new. Notice how the moon’s placement in the zodiac affects your mood and emotions. Essential oils can help stabilize your mind and emotions. Generally earthy scents have the most harmonizing and stabilizing effects on the emotions.
Void of Course Moon periods are great for taking it easy and going with the flow of events and completing projects. During Void of Course Moons your emotional body is going through a period of processing and integrating your recent experiences. You naturally clear out your emotions during these periods. Doing things that helps with this natural process are especially helpful now, i.e. relaxation, yoga, movement, hot baths with sea salts and essential oils, focused breathing.
Void of Course Moon Phases are not good for starting new projects, or launching new ventures, or having meetings (if you want to achieve anything), or signing contracts and making agreements as it’s less likely anything will come of any agreement, or it will be sluggish and slow to start.
For your New and Full Moon Rituals make sure the Moon is not Void of Course and in aspect to another celestial body when doing your ritual for best results.
- On December 18th we have a 10minute Void of Course Moon from 5:10am PT to 5:33am PT when the Sagittarius Moon enters the sign of Capricorn.
- On December 20th we have a 11hour Void of Course Moon from 7:37am PT to 6:29pm PT when the Capricorn Moon enters the sign of Aquarius.
