This Week’s General Astrology Forecast
The week starts off with the Moon in Virgo Square to Venus in Sagittarius and Opposing Neptune in Pisces which can represent a struggle and tension that needs release.
Today is also the Last Quarter Waning Moon, so it’s that time of month when you’re faced with the need to let go and purge something that can prevent you from making the most of the fresh start that is just a week away for you. The Virgo Moon is also Trine to Pluto which gives power to the regeneration and healing, make the most of it.

BEST ESSENTIAL OILS
Best oils to use this week are the oils that promote your staying grounded and balanced internally, as well positive and enthusiastic about life. Earthy scents and citrus oils are perfect!
Here are the essential oils I recommend:
Vetiver (Vetiveria zizanioides) – The scent is Sweet, Earthy, Balsamic, Exotic, Sensual, Smoky, Woody.
- Excellent for balancing the First Chakra
- High Sesquiterpenoid content gives grounding, calming, relaxing effect
Vetiver is one of the most grounding and stabilizing oils in aromatherapy. The strong and hearty roots of this tropical grass reach deep into the earth. Many countries plant Vetiver for protection against soil erosion.
Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis) – The scent is fresh, sweet, citrus, fruity.
- A rejuvenating body tonic
- Promotes happiness, eases tension
Himalayan Cedarwood (Cedrus deadora) – The scent is Balsamic, rich, sweet, warm, woody, with fruity & honey undertones.
- Fortifying effect on the mind and emotions
Astro Energy Report Highlights
All dates are at exact peak of intensity when energies begin to culminate and wane. If you have personal planets or points within 1-2º orb of an aspect that’s occurring between planets then you will feel that celestial event more strongly.
On December 9th – Mars enters Scorpio for the next 7 weeks until the 26th of January when he then enters Sagittarius. Mars is forceful and likes to get things going NOW! In Scorpio Mars can display red hot passion for making money. During its transit of Scorpio you’ll also enjoy sexual encounters and feel more sensual and attractive. However, your patience may be a little thin. Breathe when faced with any resistance from outside. Watch out for being overly aggressive, dominating or stinging anyone with your acerbic wit during this time, especially in the area of your life where Scorpio is located in your natal chart and the houses it rules (1st and 8th). On December 10th – Mercury at 24º Sagittarius Trines Uranus in Aries. This pair can be magical for opening and awakening you to new vistas. Mercury is Retrograde, so though an opportunity or potential may be presented it may get delayed until Mercury revisits his Trine to Uranus when, once again Direct on January 6, 2018, he Trines Uranus, synchronistically within the same time frame as Venus’ exact Conjunction to the Sun. A very good sign that fresh new positive and life affirming impulses are being birthed at this 2018 New Year. We can all use that, right?!!
On December 10th – Venus at 11º Sagittarius Squares Neptune in Pisces. There can be tension (conflict) between your personal love interests (what you have your heart set on) and the collective interests. Something may need to get dissolved (or surrendered) that you’ve been holding onto personally for the sake of the collective good. And, to keep peace and harmony you may need to be willing to give a little to get a little, or even a lot in return. Squares between Venus and Neptune can also spell some kind of disillusionment with what the collective wants as it conflicts with your personal sense of autonomy. Deception can also be involved whether from yourself or from another.
On December 12th – Mercury at 20º Sagittarius Conjuncts the Sun. We’ve reached the mid-point of the Mercury retrograde cycle. Some new idea or brilliant solution to a problem can surface now. Though acting on it may get delayed since Mercury is Retrograde.
On December 15th – Mercury at 17º Sagittarius Conjuncts Venus. Mercury and Venus are within orb of Conjunction to the Sun enhancing possibilities for increased cash flow and creating a bit of magic.
Venus is traveling close to the Sun within orb of Conjunction now and until January 8th when they will exactly Conjunct. This Sun and Venus holding hands as we cross the threshold and enter 2018 is a very auspicious sign. More on that later.
VOID OF COURSE MOON PHASES
The moon represents your emotional needs. Your emotions fluctuate with the moon as it moves through its 28-day cycle around the zodiac from new moon to full and back to new. Notice how the moon’s placement in the zodiac affects your mood and emotions. Essential oils can help stabilize your mind and emotions. Generally earthy scents have the most harmonizing and stabilizing effects on the emotions.
Void of Course Moon periods are great for taking it easy and going with the flow of events and completing projects. During Void of Course Moons your emotional body is going through a period of processing and integrating your recent experiences. You naturally clear out your emotions during these periods. Doing things that helps with this natural process are especially helpful now, i.e. relaxation, yoga, movement, hot baths with sea salts and essential oils, focused breathing.
Void of Course Moon Phases are not good for starting new projects, or launching new ventures, or having meetings (if you want to achieve anything), or signing contracts and making agreements as it’s less likely anything will come of any agreement, or it will be sluggish and slow to start.
For your New and Full Moon Rituals make sure the Moon is not Void of Course and in aspect to another celestial body when doing your ritual for best results.
- On December 10th we have a 2 hour Void of Course Moon from 7:02pm PT to 9:01pm PT when the Virgo Moon enters the sign of Libra.
- On December 13th we have a 1+ hour Void of Course Moon from 4:27am PT to 5:59am PT when the Libra Moon enters the sign of Scorpio.
- On December 14th we have a 11+ hour Void of Course Moon from 5:42pm PT to 5:07pm PT on December 15th when the Scorpio Moon enters the sign of Sagittarius.
