This Week’s General Astrology Forecast
The week starts off with the Moon in Gemini trine to Venus in Aquarius and Square to Neptune in Pisces.
There may be crossed signals or mis-communications, especially as Mercury (the communicator) in Capricorn (the boss) is Square to its higher octave counterpart Uranus (the rebel) in Aries. Something has to give on this day to keep peace. Diplomacy and compromise may be called for. Diplomacy could be the key theme of this entire week!
On January 31st we have the 11º 37’ Leo Super Full Moon Lunar Eclipse. This moon is the culmination of what was birthed at Leo Solar Eclipse last July. It brings to fruition something that was started last July at the Solar Eclipse. Think back to what was happening during that period of time (from the end of May). What’s been unfolding for you since then. It’s ready for completion now.
This an incredibly potent Full Moon and a DOOZY for some of you!! Over reactions are possible. Watch for getting sucked into other people’s emotional outbursts or psycho dramas.
This is the second full moon in a month, so by modern day estimations it is considered a blue moon. However, ancient astrological systems consider a blue moon to be four full moons in the 3 month period between each solstice and equinox. According to this traditional view there are no blue moons in 2018.

Astro Energy Report Highlights
All dates are at exact peak of intensity when energies begin to culminate and wane. If you have personal planets or points within 1-2º orb of an aspect that’s occurring between planets then you will feel that celestial event more strongly.
January 27th – Mercury at 25º Capricorn Squares Uranus in Aries. These two always produce electrifying results when making contact. There could be a sudden blow-up in communications, or a contract has to get a major revision. Something sudden and disruptive involving your connections and communications is likely to happen now or in the world at-large. If you have personal planets or points within 1-2º orb you’ll feel this aspect more. It’s all good though. If things fall apart or need a major adjustment it’s because they need to.
This is the only planet to planet aspect happening this entire week. All the celestial forces unfolding now are Moon (emotional needs) oriented.
The Moon is making quite a mix of oppositional and conflicting celestial contacts with other planets, along with beneficial ones. It could be a week that completely boggles the mind. Stay in your heart. Trust and innocence are called for this week. Let go of any need to be in control. Your heart sees wisely and will always guide you smoothly through any periods of confusion or seeming disruption.
January 31st – We have the 11º 37’ Leo Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, exact at 5:27am PT. Staying open, innocent and trusting at the Leo Lunar Eclipse may be your best course of action.
The 11º 37′ Leo Full Moon Lunar Eclipse Point is very significant. It’s been Quincunx or Inconjunct Neptune (the planet that can bring illusions and confusion). An Inconjunct (150º aspect formed between Neptune in Pisces and Leo) can generally result in extremely irritating moments of absolute befuddlement about what to do next.
It’s all been for good though as this has unseated you from feeling comfortable and spurred you to make needed adjustments. Neptune in Pisces has been Inconjunct this 11º Leo point for almost two years now. Those within 1-2º of this 11º 37′ point in any zodiac sign would have felt this awkward dance between Neptune in Pisces and Leo the most strongly. However, Leos would have especially felt these strong undercurrents like an undertow that comes out of nowhere and drags you down into the abyss. Ever get that sinking feeling? This 11º Leo point was strongly activated during last summer’s Total Solar Eclipse.
Imminent astrologer, Dane Rudhyar, the early pioneer of transpersonal astrology says that the entire orbit of Neptune occurs at the 11º point of Leo. What that means for you is that an entire orbit of Neptune has been occurring for two years now. Neptune takes approximately 164 years to transit the entire zodiac. Neptune’s stationary Inconjunct for two years at 11º Leo point has had the effect of rapidly increasing your maturation rate (and everyone on planet Earth) for accelerated evolutionary growth for almost two years now!!
Eclipses offer you a major opportunity to reboot your emotional bodies. As I see it your emotional body has been being prepared for the upgrade about to happen at the11º 37′ Leo Full Moon Lunar Eclipse when there is a tremendous upgrade and reboot for all your energy systems. This means complete transcendence of old programs and patterns can occur. This kind of evolutionary upgrade can take weeks, months or even years to fully integrate, but the installation of new coding (you might say) is complete.
The 11 number is a master number when rapid maturation can take place for everyone, but especially for those with planets or points within orb of this 11º. The 11º is also close to Cross Quarter Point which forms a Fixed Grand Cross Pattern with the other Cross Quarter Points. A Grand Cross Pattern serves to cut you free of past events and patterns of behavior. If resisted by the ego-mind, the self-centered ideas you have about yourself and how life “should” be, then this can be felt as a crucifixion of sorts. Martyrdom and victimization are key themes of the negative side of the Neptune/Pisces vibration. And the negative side of the Leo vibration is self-centeredness and wanting to be the center of attention. Everything is all about you. We all have these elements of the Leo and Neptune/Pisces vibration playing out in some way.
I’d say it’s potentially the end of the pity-party and it’s all about me on planet earth when a sense of urgency to realize your Christ Self, your natural Self, can be born.
What Are Cross-Quarter Days?
Our ancestors celebrated eight festivals in their year which consisted of the solstices and equinoxes, known as the “quarter days“, and the four midpoints between these quarter days, known as “cross quarter days”. These points were significant to them and for us.
The Quarter Days
March 25, Lady Day
Around spring equinox, this day became the feast of the Angel Gabriel’s annunciation to the Virgin Mary that she would be mother of the Christ.
June 24, Midsummer Day
Around summer solstice, this day was the midpoint of the growing season, halfway between planting and harvest.
September 29, Michaelmas
Around fall equinox, the harvest began on this day, and celebrated with fairs and festivals.
December 25, Christmas
Celebrated as winter solstice. A time of resting and preparation for a new season of planting and gathering.
The Cross-Quarter Days
Cross-quarter days mark the midpoint between solstice and equinox. The ancient Celts celebrated cross-quarter days as the start of a new season. The two major Cross-Quarter days being winter (Samhain), the start of the dark half of the year, and summer (Beltane), the start of the light half of the year.
February 2, Imbolc or Brigantia
In ancient days this day was called Imbolc (lambs’ milk). It was the start of the lambing season. Also called Brigantia for the Celtic female deity of light, this is the day when the Sun reaches its halfway point between the winter solstice and spring equinox.
May 1, May Day or Beltane
May Day, or Beltane, is the halfway point between spring equinox and summer solstice. It marked the beginning of summer for ancient Celts when it was a day of celebration with music and dancing. Beltane was also a time when young couples could meet. New couples were wed at the next Cross-Quarter Day, after three months of courtship and seeing how well matched they were. Today, the waiting period has shortened to six-weeks and given birth to a tradition of June weddings.
August 1, Lughnasadh
Lughnasadh was celebrated as the wedding of the Sun god Lugh to the Earth goddess. Their union caused the ripening of crops.
October 31, Samhain
Samhain, or summer’s end, is now celebrated as Halloween. Historians believe Samhain was the start of the Celtic new year. As the death-night of the old year Samhain became associated with ghosts, globlins and graveyards.
Leo Lunar Eclipse Celestial line-up
The Leo Lunar Eclipse is Trine to Mars in Sagittarius. Mars lends positive energy for taking action, or could give you the grit necessary to refrain from taking ill conceived actions.
The Leo Lunar Eclipse is Opposite to the Sun (which all full moons are).
The Sun is Conjunct to Venus (your personal love interests, what gives you personal pleasure and satisfaction). The Sun and Venus have been traveling close together since last December. There Conjunction is now 5º apart from exact. So, their energy as a couple is not as strong to oppose the Leo Full Moon Lunar Eclipse as it it was a few weeks ago.
Oppositions can bring out the worst in people and situations. That’s really one of the gifts of a Full Moon, revealing what’s been hidden and bringing it to the light. A Super Full Moon Lunar Eclipse brings even greater opportunity than a Full Moon. It’s a time of great self discovery when we can become more integrated and whole.
Both Aquarius and Leo are Fixed Astrological Signs. The negative side of the Aquarius energy can be someone who feels superior to others. They may believe that they alone know what the right thing is to do in any situation. They can exhibit very rigid, dogmatic and overly controlling behavior.
While the negative side of Leo is to be very self absorbed, selfish and prone to high drama and emotional outbursts. I’ve seen many Leo’s throw temper tantrums like a small child to get their way.
These are just two ways these oppositional energy can play out at the Leo Lunar Eclipse.
The opportunity available at the Leo Full Moon Lunar Eclipse is to act with maturity and exercise diplomacy (if possible). If you find yourself in opposition to someone or something and there’s no openness for discussion then exercising self control may be your best course of action.
The Moon and Venus are the primary personal feminine planets in the zodiac and when they oppose it feel like a cat fight. Two women fighting is not pretty. It can involve very intense personal emotions and taking things too personally.
If you have personal planets or points within 1-2º orb of the Leo Lunar Eclipse you’ll feel these energies more intensely. Or, see them played out in the world in some way.
Mercury enters Aquarius at the time of the Leo Lunar Eclipse lending his energy to the oppositional celestial mix. Watch your thoughts, or having hard edgy attitudes about anything.
Jupiter in Scorpio forms a T-Square with the Leo Lunar Eclipse and the Sun Conjunct Venus in Aquarius. Jupiter expands whatever it touches. If there’s good feelings going on at the time of the Leo Lunar Eclipse then Jupiter will expand those. If, however, there’s intense emotions being played out Jupiter will tend to expand those.
Potentially, Jupiter’s beneficial influence could have a softening effect on the entire mix of celestial energies constellated at the Lunar Eclipse.
Finally, the Leo Lunar Eclipse is Trine to Uranus (by element, not degree). Uranus lends its breakthrough to freedom energy to the Leo Moon.
The celestial energies are very combustible at the Leo Lunar Eclipse. The pressure is on for things to come to a head and completion, and the dams of suppressed emotions could suddenly burst. Self control (not suppression) is called for and a useful power for you to exercise at this time. If you feel to let someone have it you may want to breathe deeply and, instead, refrain and reframe.
The Leo Full Moon Lunar Eclipse brings tremendous breakthrough energy when openness, trust and innocence can win the day! And, hopefully, set a new evolutionary pattern for the future.
VOID OF COURSE MOON PERIODS
The moon represents your emotional needs. Your emotions fluctuate with the moon as it moves through its 28-day cycle around the zodiac from new moon to full and back to new. Notice how the moon’s placement in the zodiac affects your mood and emotions. Essential oils can help stabilize your mind and emotions. Generally earthy scents have the most harmonizing and stabilizing effects on the emotions.
Void of Course Moon periods are great for taking it easy and going with the flow of events and completing projects. During Void of Course Moons your emotional body is going through a period of processing and integrating your recent experiences. You naturally clear out your emotions during these periods. Doing things that helps with this natural process are especially helpful now, i.e. relaxation, yoga, movement, hot baths with sea salts and essential oils, focused breathing.
Void of Course Moon Phases are not good for starting new projects, or launching new ventures, or having meetings (if you want to achieve anything), or signing contracts and making agreements as it’s less likely anything will come of any agreement, or it will be sluggish and slow to start.
