This Week’s General Astrology Forecast
The week starts off with the Moon in Cancer Square to Mars in Aries, Opposite to Saturn in Capricorn and Trine to Neptune in Pisces.
A complicated situation to be sure. You may be faced with a dilemma when a need for adjustments may be called for, but rest assured all turns out well in the end. You’ll be glad for any changes being ushered in. It’s the perfect set-up for making the most of the intense Leo Lunar Eclipse Supermoon Full Moon.

All dates are at exact peak of intensity when energies begin to culminate and wane. You may actually feel the energies several hours or even days or weeks (in the case of eclipses) before the Celestial Peak, Crest of the Wave, so to speak. If you have personal planets or points within 1-2º orb of an aspect that’s occurring between planets then you will feel that celestial event more strongly.
January 20th – Sun enters the sign of Aquarius at 1:00am PT. The radiance of the sun shines its light on visionary potentials this month. Aquarius ruled by Uranus represents your higher mind. Your future awaits and it’s just on the horizon. A new era arrives. Are you ready and willing to embrace it? Trust your ‘keen’ sense of intuition to guide you.
On same day – Venus at 15° Sagittarius Squares Neptune in Pisces, exact at 8:24pm PT. When Squares Neptune you can be beset by disappointment and disillusionment. However, if you will just allow yourself to be quiet and make a minor adjustment between your personal interests and the greater interests all can flow smoothly back into harmony again. Look inside your heart for any answers you seek.
On same day – Total Lunar Eclipse Supermoon Full Moon at 0° 52’ Leo, exact at 9:16pm PT. Lunar eclipses are typically visible from a much larger part of the earth than a solar eclipse. The Total Leo Lunar Eclipse will be visible across all of North America, Central America, and South America, as well as Ireland, the United Kingdom and parts of Europe. This Total Leo Lunar Eclipse brings completion to what was initiated at to the Leo Total Solar Eclipse back in the Summer of 2017. Now there is feeling of finality to events that were triggered during that time..
This is a very complex Lunar Eclipse with a cast of characters playing disparate parts. With Leo, representing the king/queen and royal actor/actress in us all life can feel a bit poised on the precipice. Drama, drama, drama can result though not necessarily. Leo ruled by the Sun (Will) can shine the light on situations. Look within and rekindle the power of your enthusiasm to win the day. It’s a powerful Supermoon. Enjoy!
January 21st – Mars at 14° Aries Square Saturn in Capricorn, exact at 3:16am PT. This can be an especially intense aspect. Your ego and power of authority are called into question. Being in the peak energies of the Leo Lunar Eclipse Supermoon Full Moon intensifies the Square between these cosmic forces. Saturn and Mars are often referred to as Malefic forces of the zodiac because they can dredge up dark forces within us. The Square calls you to make adjustments and the Lunar Eclipse brings illumination and release. It’s a time for being quiet within and contemplating before taking action.
January 22nd – Venus at 16° Sagittarius Conjuncts Jupiter, exact at 4:26am PT. Grand Fire Trine with Mars in Aries playing out. Venus joining hands with Jupiter brings good feelings and money making opportunities (usually). In harmony with Mars can work to accentuate the Martian energies. There’s real potential for an extraordinary breakthrough.
January 23rd – Mercury at 29° Capricorn Squares Uranus in Aries, exact at 3:13am PT. The intensity of the week continues as Mercury (your mind) Squares off with your urge to action. Your head and desires are out sync. Again, you’re called upon to make needed adjustments in your attitude and the way you take action. Being in the final 29° of the sign of Aries and Capricorn accentuates the need for diplomacy and maturity when taking action and making decisions.
Same day – Mercury enters the sign of Aquarius, exact at 9:50pm PT. Mercury enjoys transiting the sign of Aquarius (fellow air sign). Your thoughts can be especially fluid over the next 2 1/2 weeks (until February 10th when Mercury ingresses into the sign of Pisces). With such a quick and agile mind you can find yourself in the company of new and exciting people and surroundings.
January 25th – Mars at 16° Aries Trines Jupiter in Sagittarius. Concluding the Fire Trine energy that’s been playing out since last Friday with Venus, Jupiter, Mars and the Moon (forming Grand Fire Trine at the Lunar Eclipse through the 22nd of January). It’s been an extraordinary week, filled perhaps with a few dramatic turn of events. All’s well that ends well!
VOID OF COURSE MOON PERIODS
The moon represents your emotional needs. Your emotions fluctuate with the moon as it moves through its 28-day cycle around the zodiac from new moon to full and back to new. Notice how the moon’s placement in the zodiac affects your mood and emotions. Essential oils can help stabilize your mind and emotions. Generally earthy scents have the most harmonizing and stabilizing effects on the emotions.
Void of Course Moon periods are great for taking it easy and going with the flow of events and completing projects. During Void of Course Moons your emotional body is going through a period of processing and integrating your recent experiences. You naturally clear out your emotions during these periods. Doing things that helps with this natural process are especially helpful now, i.e. relaxation, yoga, movement, hot baths with sea salts and essential oils, focused breathing.
Void of Course Moon Phases are not good for starting new projects, or launching new ventures, or having meetings (if you want to achieve anything), or signing contracts and making agreements as it’s less likely anything will come of any agreement, or it will be sluggish and slow to start.
