The Gemini Moon Squares Neptune in Pisces later in the day at 7:36pm PT giving you an opportunity to let go of any psycho-emotional baggage before the Cancer Supermoon. We’re in the final countdown for the Cancer Super Full Moon at 11º 38’ and exact at 6:24pm PT. Uranus is station at 24º 34’ in Aries and moves Direct on January 2nd.

Astro Energy Report Highlights
All dates are at exact peak of intensity when energies begin to culminate and wane. If you have personal planets or points within 1-2º orb of an aspect that’s occurring between planets then you will feel that celestial event more strongly.
On January 1, 2018 – We have a Supermoon Full Moon at 11º 38’ Cancer exactly at 6:24pm. This a powerful and complex Supermoon. It makes contact with all of the planets (except Mercury). Uranus at 25º 34’ Aries is Stationed (not moving) and will move Direct tomorrow at 6:11am. There’s tremendous punch to this Supermoon in Cancer. Cancer is the ruler of the Moon and 4th house matters (home, family, roots) and is known for being hyper sensitive and emotional. When the Moon is Full in Cancer emotions always run high at a Supermoon your emotion are on steroids.
The Celestial Lineup – The Perfect Storm
The Cancer Supermoon is opposite the Sun (as always) signifying illumination and revelation of something that’s been hidden or suppressed that needs release. It’s also a time of celebration and completion.
The Sun and Venus are within 2º exact conjunction in Capricorn. The pair form a loose Conjunction to Saturn in Capricorn which means the Cancer Supermoon is opposite not only the Sun, but also Venus and Saturn in Capricorn.
This feels like a major completion point, something is coming to a head for clearing and release. A great deal of pressure is coming up for expression and resolution with this Opposition. The Sun, Cancer and Saturn are related to 1st (the personality, identity, how others see you) 4th (home, family, roots) and 10th (business, profession, status quo) house matters.
The Cancer Supermoon (4th) forms a Grand Water Trine with Neptune in Pisces (12th) and Mars in Scorpio (8th). Trines are easy flowing and adaptable, so the pressure released now can easily get conducted and re-circulated through this Grand Water Trine for release. Though with all the water it can be experienced as an intense emotional high tide. Check the ‘Meaning of the 12 Houses’ for more insights.
The Sun (opposite the Moon) is Sextile Neptune in Pisces. The Sextile brings an opportunity that helps release the tension surfacing now. You have to engage with the opportunity and take action to make it happen.
The Cancer Supermoon is also Trine to Jupiter in Scorpio. Jupiter expands whatever it touches, so whatever is being illuminated, revealed and released is amplified by Jupiter’s influence. Full Moons are also times of celebration when you reach the completion point for a cycle of energy. This may be a major culmination of something that has been going on since last June at the Cancer New Moon. Now you experience a breakthrough opportunity and fulfillment of the potential being birthed over the past six months.
The Cancer Supermoon is Opposite to Pluto. Pluto is the planet of power, regeneration and healing. The plutonian energy can feel extremely intense and forceful as it blasts through anything that’s hidden that needs purging and healing.
On January 2nd – Uranus 24º 34’ in Aries and moves Direct at 6:11am. The Moon is still in Cancer. Uranus Stationing and moving Direct at the Cancer Supermoon adds rocket fuel to the confluence of celestial events constellating now.
On January 3rd – Venus at 11º Capricorn Sextiles Neptune in Pisces. There’s opportunity for love and forgiveness to operate at this time. Sextiles are opportunities, not guarantees. You need to work the energy to access what’s available when planets are Sextile.
VOID OF COURSE MOON PERIODS
The moon represents your emotional needs. Your emotions fluctuate with the moon as it moves through its 28-day cycle around the zodiac from new moon to full and back to new. Notice how the moon’s placement in the zodiac affects your mood and emotions. Essential oils can help stabilize your mind and emotions. Generally earthy scents have the most harmonizing and stabilizing effects on the emotions.
Void of Course Moon periods are great for taking it easy and going with the flow of events and completing projects. During Void of Course Moons your emotional body is going through a period of processing and integrating your recent experiences. You naturally clear out your emotions during these periods. Doing things that helps with this natural process are especially helpful now, i.e. relaxation, yoga, movement, hot baths with sea salts and essential oils, focused breathing.
Void of Course Moon Phases are not good for starting new projects, or launching new ventures, or having meetings (if you want to achieve anything), or signing contracts and making agreements as it’s less likely anything will come of any agreement, or it will be sluggish and slow to start.
For your New and Full Moon Rituals make sure the Moon is not Void of Course and in aspect to another celestial body when doing your ritual for best results.
- On December 31st we have a 8+ hour Void of Course Moon from 3:38pm PT to 0:10am PT when the Gemini Moon enters the sign of Cancer.
- On January 2nd we have a 8+ hour Void of Course Moon from 2:46pm PT to 11:22pm PT when the Cancer Moon enters the sign of Leo.
- On January 4th we have a 9+ hour Void of Course Moon from 3:10pm PT to 0:12am PT on January 5th when the Leo Moon enters the sign of Virgo.
