A friend of mine wanted to try using a treatment with pure essential oils for a Bartholin’s gland cyst. Please refer to this page, and print it out, for instructions on how to use the formula if you should purchase it for yourself or someone else.

What is a Bartholin's gland?

The Bartholin's gland is a tiny organ on each of the labia minora (vaginal lips) just outside the opening to the vagina. If the vagina were the face of a clock, the Bartholin glands would be found at about 4 and 8 o'clock. Normally they are so tiny that they are invisible. During sexual arousal the Bartholin’s gland releases a lubricating fluid. A Barholin’s gland cyst develops when the gland becomes blocked. The gland can become blocked for a variety of reasons, such as an infection, inflammation, long term irritation, or poor circulation. When blockage occurs a round swelling called a cyst forms that can grow to the size of an orange, though most only get as large as the size of a golf ball. Cysts can become tender though not always.

I made a blend of pure essential oils for my friend to try in a Sitz bath.

Key Ingredients:
The Bartholin Gland Formula I made for her contained the following key ingredients: Lavender, Juniperberry, Cypress, plus other non-disclosed pure essential oils:

Directions: Here are the general guidelines which I gave my friend for using the Bartholin Cyst Formula. Use 3-4 drops Bartholin’s Gland Formula in a carrier of Epson salts (1/2 cup) added to a Sitz bath. Soak for 10-15 minutes, once a day. If you don't notice a change in the cyst or symptoms of discomfort within a few hours after your soak you may repeat.

Thanks so much for the EO formula. The gland started draining Saturday night (1 day after beginning treatment) and it's nearly back to normal (Sunday night), 2 days after beginning treatment. CYPRESS ( Cupressus sempervirens ) Cypress pure essential oil has a distinctly clean, fresh, woody aroma that's light and clear with a hint of spice and is reminiscent of pine and juniper berry. The oil is distilled from the leaves (needles) and cones of the column shaped, evergreen Cypress tree from the Mediterranean region of Europe.

A hemostat and a decongestant Cypress essential oil has the most powerful astringent action in aromatherapy. Its properties act to strengthen and tone the circulatory and nervous systems and relieve circulatory and lymphatic congestion.
