DILUTION GUIDE for personal skin care 2% Dilution, 10-12 drops per ounce of carrier (refer to Class 3 for a complete dilution guide).

PLEASE NOTE: Essential oils are not water soluble you must use a dispersant when adding them to a facial steam or bath and water may cause the oils to penetrate your system more quickly or cause irritation to sensitive or damaged skin, i.e. blemishes, sores or rash.

Skin Brushing for Beautiful, Healthy & Glowing Skin

Invigorate your skin, and stimulates your lymphatic system with this aromatherapy exfoliating and healing skin preparation.

Pint cup for mixing carrier and essential oil
1 Tablespoon Honey (as a carrier)
1 drop essential oil: Lavender, Geranium, Ylang Ylang, or Chamomile
Sterilized instrument such as a stainless steel teaspoon

Blend pure essential oil evenly into your honey carrier with a sterile instrument. Apply mixture to your natural bristle skin brush and brush your skin.

Make sure your gentle, yet brisk brush strokes are upward, toward your heart. Stroke gently and evenly upwards from your finger tips up to your shoulders, and from your toes up to your neck. Include the front and back sides of your body as you breathe deeply. Enjoy the wonderful tingling sensations dancing across your skin.

Always be sure to work from your extremities upwards, toward your heart. Gently, yet briskly, cover your entire body, omitting your face and neck in the process of this cleansing and uplifting ritual. Skin brushing is especially effective just before you shower.

Sterilized instrument such as a stainless steel teaspoon

Blend together your sea salts and carrier oil until thoroughly mixed, then add 3-4 drops of your chosen pure essential oil to your mixture and blend thoroughly. Add more carrier oil as desired to your ‘Salt Glow’ blend if you prefer a loose, wet action for your ‘Salt Glow.’ Stand over a large bath towel as you begin to apply your salt glow and rub your skin gently, using upward sweeping strokes, start at your toes and work upwards to your abdomen. Then begin to stroke upwards from your fingers tips to your shoulders. After finishing your extremities begin rubbing ‘Salt Glow’ onto the front side of your torso and then your backside. You can rinse off your “Salt Glow’ in a warm and soothing shower, or take a steaming hot bath afterwards. The ‘Salt Glow’ will leave your skin feeling soft and silky smooth!

Aromatic Sea Salt Bath – To cleanse & restore your chakra energy centers and your auric field

Natural sea salts are rich in minerals and charged with electrical and healing properties that you can especially benefit from in a warm bath. A sea salt bath with pure essential oils is an effective way to cleanse your chakras and auric energy field. You can purchase natural sea salt in your local health-food store in the spice section.

3-8 drops pure essential oil (lavender, rose, frankincense, myrrh, spikenard, sandalwood)
Sterilized instrument such as a stainless steel teaspoon

Add 3-8 drops of essential oils to your sea salts and blend the mixture together thoroughly. The sea salts act as the carrier for dispersing your pure essential oils into your bath waters. The waters should be a warm, not hot; around 98.6º or body temperature is best for restoring your energy centers (chakras) and cleansing your auric field. Soak for 15 minutes or until your bath water begins to cool. Please remember to hydrate sufficiently during and after your bath.

You can achieve outstanding results for your body, mind, and soul with this relaxing and rejuvenating foot soak (hot or cool as desired).

Thoroughly blend pure essential oils in your carrier and add to your jacuzzi while jets are on to disperse into your Jacuzzi. The addition of your essential oils in a carrier may be repeated every 30 minutes. WARNING: Small trace amounts such as this should be fine, however repeated use of large amounts of essential oils may damage plastic plumbing.

Exfoliating Sugar Scrub – For a variety of skin conditions use before your bath or shower

1-1 1/2 cups French pink or green clay (partial or full body mask)
1/2-1 1/2 cup purified water, or cream (partial or full body mask)
1-4 drops pure essential oil (rose geranium, rose, chamomile, lavender)
Sterilized instrument such as a stainless steel teaspoon

NATURAL FRENCH CLAY, mined in France. The two kinds of natural French clay I recommend for use with pure essential oils are pink and green clay. Here’s why: PINK CLAY is a mild and gentle clay that’s suitable for use everyday without any drying affects. Pink clay’s action is cleansing, purifying, detoxifying, soothing, and softening. It is especially useful for dry, sensitive and normal skin conditions.

GREEN CLAY is highly astringent, as well as absorbent. It is excellent for pulling oils, toxins, and impurities from your skin, and wonderful for toning and clearing the complexion as it tightens pores, repairs damaged skin cells, stimulates skin cell regeneration, and helps clear problem skin.

Blend your choice of natural French clay with purified water or cream to make a loose paste, but not wet. Add your pure essential oil to the paste and blend thoroughly. Immediately begin to apply the French clay mixture to your face, or body using gentle upward sweeping strokes. Stand over a large bath towel, or in your shower if you are applying as a full or partial body mask. Allow mask to dry, and rinse off in a warm shower.

CAUTION: Clay may stain fabric.

Body Freshener & Toner

Preparation – what you will need:

2oz ounce colored glass atomizer misting bottle
Purified water
Witch hazel
18-24 drops pure essential oil (rose geranium, lavender, ylang ylang, rose)

BODY FRESHENER & TONER DIRECTIONS –

Half fill a two (2) ounce colored glass bottle, that has an atomizer or misting top, with pure filtered water, and follow the basic aromatherapy blending guidelines for formulating a recipe, add your pure essential oil one drop at a time, shake well after the addition of each drop, and spray to test the aroma quality and effect. Continue to add drops of pure essential oil until you’ve added 18-24 drops total (1-2% dilution) Add a tiny amount (9-24 drops) of witch hazel to act as a dispersant for your essential oils to blend into the water. Shake well to thoroughly blend essential oils into the water, then lightly spray onto the desired skin areas to freshen and tone. May also spray toner onto a cotton facial pad and apply to your face and skin with gentle upward, sweeping movements.

TRY THIS BODY FRESHENER & TONER RECIPE – follow the directions and formulate a Body Freshener & Toner aromatic mist.

1-2% Dilution – Body Freshener & Toner Blend (18-24 drops)

Lavender, Lavendula angustifolia – 5-7 drops
Ylang Ylang III – Cananga odorata – 6-8 drops
Rose Geranium – Pelargonium roseum – 7-9 drops

Facial & Body Butter (Recipe makes about 4 ounces)

Put shea butter and beeswax into light coconut oil and heat in a double boiler, or for a homemade double boiler use a Pyrex glass measuring cup inside a pan of water. Heat mixture until shea butter and beeswax melts thoroughly. Remove measuring cup from pan and add vegetable glycerin and blend mixture together with a sterile instrument. Allow butter to cool slightly before adding your essential oils – blend in essential oils gently with a sterile instrument. Pour butter into your container allow to set completely before using, or seal tightly with a lid and store in a cool, dry, dark place, or may refrigerate for longer shelf life.

Lip Balm & Repair Butter (Recipe makes about 2 ounces)

Preparation – what you will need:

Double boiler, or
Pyrex glass measuring cup inside large pot of water (homemade double boiler)
¼ cup light coconut oil
1 TBSP (heaping) beeswax – less makes your lip balm softer, more makes it firmer
30-36 drops pure essential oil (lavender, sandalwood, geranium)
Optional: May add 1 Tablespoon Coca or Shea butter, or a few drops of vitamin E oil.

Put beeswax into light coconut oil and heat in a double boiler, or for a homemade double boiler use a Pyrex glass measuring cup inside a large pot of water. Heat mixture until beeswax melts. Remove measuring cup from pan and cool slightly before adding your essential oils – blend in essential oils gently with a sterile instrument. Pour into your lip balm container and allow to set-up completely before using. May store tightly sealed in a cool, dry place, or refrigerate for longer shelf life.

Celtic Smelling Salts

Preparation – what you will need:

Small bowl
1/8 oz vial(s) with cap
Celtic salt, plump, coarse ground variety
3-4 drops pure essential oil (lavender, peppermint, eucalyptus, lemon)

Put a small amount of Celtic salt into your bowl, then fill your vial with salt. Finish by adding 3-4 drops of your chosen essential oil and cap. Shake the vial vigorously for a minute or so to disperse the essential oil scent which will be absorbed into the salts. The natural moistness of the green clay in Celtic salt allows for fast penetration of your pure essential oils, making it an excellent carrier for aromatic scent. Another remarkable feature of Celtic salts is how long lasting your aromatherapy oils will stay for inhalation purposes once absorbed and preserved in the Celtic salt. Consider using Celtic salts as a carrier for your more expensive oils like Rose and Helichrysum. Celtic salts make a wonderful carrier for appetite suppressant oils like lemon and grapefruit, as well as for headache relief oils like peppermint and lavender.

ACTIVATE YOUR HEALING HANDS – ENERGY WORK

Life’s very essence is energy. Your body is a vital energy field that will positively respond to the loving energy healing treatments you’re about to learn.

Let’s activate your hands and heart and focus your healing energy. Get into a comfortable, relaxed position whether seated, standing or lying down. Feel comfortably awake and alert within yourself. Breathe in three full inhalations and exhale any tension as you center yourself and relax more deeply with each exhalation.

GO into the center of your body, the central feeling places – your stomach and heart.

Imagine what you want to experience from this time of energy healing for you body and soul. Feel grateful for the experiences you are co-creating with the assistance of the universe for yourself. Allow your positive feelings of gratitude to bubble up from within your heart and stomach.

The more gratitude you can feel, the more open you will be to receive direction from your spirit during your energy healing treatments.

Extend your forearms in front of you, elbows bent at a 90º angle and tucked in by your side, your palms are facing in toward one another. Allow your weight to sink into your lower abdomen and pelvis area, breathe in and relax deeply into the core of your body located in your lower abdomen. Now invite the universal life force healing energies to be activated in your hands. To assist you in doing this imagine flames of iridescent light, purple, gold and white at your finger tips, feel a tingling sensation as healing energy cycles through the palms of your hands and flows into your forearms, upper arms, chest and into your heart. This universal healing energy warms your entire body with love and light.

Allow your natural healing energy abilities to awaken fully. Now rub your hands together and place your hands on the part of your body, or energy center (chakra) you’re focusing on during your chakra balancing meditation.

AROMATHERAPY & PRANIC RAINBOW LIGHT BREATHING

PRANA – In Sanskrit “prana” means “vital life” or “breath”

Sanskrit words have multiple layers of meaning. In Vedic philosophy, prana refers to an energy similar to the Chinese term “Qi.” Ayurvedic and Yogic traditions teach us that prana circulates or flows through a series of subtle networks or channels in the mind and body called nadis. In its most subtle form prana is in the breath, but the life force of prana is also found in the blood and other body fluids. Pranic energy is vibrant and filled with radiant life force energy, or rainbow light energy.

In Ayurveda prana is classified into five subcategories referred to as prana vayus. Each of these five classifications is specifically responsible for coordinating a particular function in the body.

  • 1- Prana regulates the breath and the beating of the heart.
  • 2- Apana regulates elimination of waste from the body.
  • 3- Udana regulates vocal sound, and the consciousness to produce sounds and their intention.
  • 4- Samana regulates digestion of food, metabolism, and regulating body heat.
  • 5- Vyana regulates the voluntary muscular system. PRANAYAMA is the practice of breath control, and various breathing exercises can help to move pranic “rainbow light” energy through the body consciously for various purposes.

Pranic Rainbow Light Breathing for Relaxation & Self Care

Select and dispense 1-3 drops of your chosen pure essential oil, or blend onto a cotton ball. Sit comfortably with your spine erect, close your eyes and begin to focus on your breath. Inhale your aroma slowly and allow your lungs to fill with air. Visualize the air you breathe in being filled with the rainbow light of Prana, or life force energy.See this Pranic light, or life force energy, vibrating with all the colors of the rainbow as it fills your lungs and is delivered through your blood stream to all the cells of your body, bathing them in the iridescent healing light of prana. As you exhale see any toxic residue, like a brownish-grey smoke, leave your energy system. Learning to use your breath to cleanse your energy system is the initial first step to take for clearing, balancing and amplifying each of your seven (7) major energy centers, or chakras.

Your daily thoughts of judgment and emotional reactions to life situations, as well as environmental toxins create a build up of toxic residue which you can effectively release and cleanse from your energy system through pranic breathing. Allow any thoughts or emotions that are being dispelled to come to the surface and leave you. Through pranic, rainbow light breathing you are cleansing your mind, body and emotions of toxic, unprocessed cellular debris.Continue to visualize the vibrating rainbow light of prana, your life force energy, as it flows through your blood stream to all the cells of your body for 1-5 minutes. A daily practice of pranic rainbow light breathing is excellent for general balancing and cleansing of your entire energy system.

    SOUND & COLOR HEALING

Mantras (mind-tools) and Sanskrit Seed Syllables are therapeutic tools for improving all your sensory perceptions. Attunement and alignment through sounding of a Seed Syllable has been practiced for thousands of years to promote healing and regeneration, as well as to transform negative emotional patterns.

The repetition and vocalization of a Seed Syllable creates a vibration within your body which shakes cells free from their habitual grooves to restore your biological rhythms. Sounding Seed Syllables will literally entrain your body to the rhythms of the universe.

The attunement and alignment generated within yourself through sounding or toning a Seed Syllable stimulates the release of powerful chemical messengers within your body which results in the correction of disruptive emotional patterns related to each of your Chakras. Through the practice of toning Seed Syllables you can restore your primordial sense of peace and unity within yourself and your sense of connection with others will be restored.

As well the breathing exercises recommended in combination with using pure essential oils are powerful antioxidants, increasing oxygen to your cells for enhanced nutrition and removal of metabolic waste materials and toxic residue.

As you become adept at working with the relaxation and self care technique you are learning you will begin to experience greater and lasting results for releasing emotional stress and tension from your body and mind.

You may gradually increase the time you focus your attention on an energy center, or chakra. Initially your focus should be for no more than 1-3 minutes duration.

Your regular practice of these guided relaxation and self care visualization and affirmation exercises will result in increased amplitude for your chakras. Your increased level of physical stamina and energy reserves will help you to attract more auspicious life circumstances for yourself and greatly enhance your vital life force energies, health and longevity.

Your regular practice of aromatherapy, along with the hands-on healing techniques and guided visualization and affirmation exercises is a conscious investment you can choose to make in building your personal power which will enable you to direct your spirit for desired outcomes in your life.

This Relaxation and Self Care ritual includes the related physical, mental and emotional imbalances that result from stagnation or energy blockage for your Chakra.

SOLAR PLEXUS: The Manipura – Solar Plexus or Third Chakra. In Sanskrit Manipura can be translated as, “City of Jewels” and represents the seat of your personal power, ego and desire and is referred to as the Green Dragon.

This is your vital life force energy for self empowerment and self esteem. Its nature is the strong emotional desire for control and power.

A balanced and healthy Manipura Chakra ensures a strong Digestive System.

Emotional stagnation or blockage at your Solar Plexus Chakra emits an energy frequency that resonates with struggle and frustration in fulfilling one’s desires.

Allow it to move gently and circulate throughout your body. Feel its warmth caressing you tenderly as it hums its way through all the cells of your body.

PAUSE MOMENTARILY BEFORE EXHALING the Prainic Rainbow Light energy fully, then after fully exhaling, allow yourself to pause, resting peacefully, before inhaling again.

This time focus on your spine as Pranic Rainbow Light enters through your crown chakra at the top of your head; see it shower down the front of your spine to your pubic bone then return, moving with its gentle power and force, up the back of your spine, warming you with its vibrant rainbow light color as it moves up your spine to the crown of your head.

PAUSE MOMENTARILY BEFORE EXHALING the Pranic Rainbow Light energy fully, allow yourself to pause, resting peacefully, before inhaling again.

CONTINUE THIS CYCLE OF breathing your chosen aromatherapy chakra oil as you inhale Pranic Rainbow Light energy for several cycles of breathing to charge yourself with the Rainbow Light of Prana. Give thanks for the gift of this animating life force energy that connects you with ALL THAT IS!

In your next class seven (7) you will be introduced to two new Chemical Families: the Freedom Fighters & Protectors of aromatherapy, the Oxides and Phenols. You’ll also learn more about formulating essential oil blends and be guided step-by-step exactly how to formulate and use more of your own aromatherapy products, and create home remedies to heal from accidents, injuries and illness, including: Healing Salves & Ointments, Respiratory Steams, Calming & Balancing Formulas, Muscle & Joint Relief Blends, Immune Support & Detox Blends & Anti-microbial Room Sprays.
